Effective Date: 27 July 2026
At Hindi News Bharat, accuracy is the foundation of our journalism. We are committed to publishing factual, well-researched, and verified information while maintaining the highest standards of editorial integrity. This Fact-Checking Policy explains the principles and procedures followed by our editorial team to ensure that the information we publish is as accurate and reliable as reasonably possible.
Our Commitment
Hindi News Bharat believes that every published story should be based on facts that have been carefully verified through credible and trustworthy sources. We strive to minimise errors and ensure that our reporting is fair, balanced, and presented in the proper context.
Where information cannot be independently verified at the time of publication, we clearly identify it as preliminary, developing, or based on official statements.
Verification Process
Before publishing any news report, our editorial team makes reasonable efforts to verify the information using one or more reliable sources.
Verification may include:
  • Official government notifications and press releases
  • Statements issued by public authorities
  • Court orders and judicial records
  • Police and law enforcement briefings
  • Election Commission and statutory authorities
  • Reports from recognised institutions
  • Accredited news agencies
  • Direct interviews with relevant individuals
  • On-ground reporting by our journalists
  • Public records and official databases
  • Information obtained through the Right to Information (RTI) Act, where applicable
The level of verification depends on the nature, urgency, and public significance of the story.
Multiple Source Verification
Where reasonably practicable, significant or sensitive stories are verified through more than one independent source.
For developing stories or breaking news, information may initially be limited. Such reports are updated as additional facts become available from reliable and official sources.
Anonymous and Confidential Sources
Hindi News Bharat may rely on confidential sources only when:
  • disclosure of the source could expose the individual to risk;
  • the information is considered credible;
  • the information is in the public interest; and
  • reasonable efforts have been made to corroborate the information independently.
The identity of confidential sources is protected unless disclosure is required by law.
User-Generated Content
Photographs, videos, social media posts, and information submitted by readers or obtained from public platforms are not treated as verified solely because they are publicly available.
Whenever reasonably possible, our editorial team attempts to verify:
  • the authenticity of the material;
  • the date and location;
  • the original source;
  • whether the content has been edited or manipulated.
Unverified user-generated content is not presented as established fact.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Hindi News Bharat may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to assist with language editing, transcription, translation, research support, headline suggestions, and multimedia production.
AI-generated outputs are never treated as verified facts by themselves.
Every AI-assisted article or editorial element is reviewed by a human editor before publication. Editorial responsibility always remains with Hindi News Bharat.
Corrections
If an error is identified after publication, our editorial team reviews the matter promptly.
Where a factual mistake is confirmed, appropriate action may include:
  • correcting the article;
  • adding clarification;
  • updating the report with new verified information; or
  • removing content where necessary.
Corrections are made in accordance with our Corrections Policy.
Independence
Fact-checking decisions are made independently of advertisers, sponsors, political organisations, commercial partners, or other external interests.
Editorial judgement is guided solely by available evidence, reliable sources, and the public interest.
What We Avoid
Hindi News Bharat does not knowingly publish:
  • fabricated information;
  • manipulated or misleading content;
  • unverified rumours presented as fact;
  • plagiarised material;
  • intentionally deceptive headlines;
  • altered images intended to mislead readers.
If inaccurate information is discovered after publication, reasonable efforts are made to address it promptly.
Reader Participation
We welcome readers who identify possible factual inaccuracies.
If you believe that information published by Hindi News Bharat requires correction or further verification, please contact our editorial team with supporting details wherever possible.
Every genuine request is reviewed objectively.
Editorial Responsibility
Every journalist, editor, contributor, and member of the editorial team shares responsibility for maintaining the accuracy and credibility of our reporting.
Fact-checking is an ongoing editorial process and continues even after publication whenever new verified information becomes available.
